The most cursory of glances tells you that “all-new” probably doesn’t do this reimagining of the Kia Seltos justice. Every aspect of this 2027 Kia Seltos deserves your attention, from the rugged new exterior and increased proportions to the stunningly redesigned contemporary interiors.
There are five trim levels for shoppers to choose from in the all-new 2027 Kia Seltos family. The lineup starts with the impressively well-equipped LX model, and then goes to the S, X-Line S, EX, and range-topping X-Line SX. The X-Line trim levels are AWD, while the other models are FWD. To say Kia has upped its game in the last decade or so is a massive understatement. The 2027 Kia Seltos is the latest model to prove that the days of the brand being “cheap and cheerful” are long gone. The Kia Seltos is still affordable and great value, but the sheer quality of its design and build is on another level compared to years gone by.
Performance
There are two gas engine options for the 2027 Kia Seltos. Most trim levels come with the standard 2.0-liter four-cylinder powerplant. This unit develops 147 horsepower and 132 lb.-ft. of torque, which goes to the front or all four wheels through an Intelligent Variable Transmission (CVT) (FWD) or an eight-speed automatic (AWD). The alternative powerplant is a 1.6-liter turbo-four. This one develops 190 horsepower and 195 lb.-ft. of torque, and is standard with the range-topping X-Line SX trim level. The 2.0-liter engine with FWD gets EPA-estimated fuel economy of 28 mpg in the city, 33 mpg on the highway, and 30 mpg combined. AWD models are rated at 26 mpg in the city, 30 mpg on the highway, and 28 mpg combined. The AWD-only turbo-four is rated at 24/30/26 mpg, respectively.
Features and technology
All 2027 Kia Seltos models have alloy wheels. Whether you get 16-inch, 18-inch, or 19-inch wheels depends on how high up the trim levels you go. All models get LED lights, but the X-Line trims get a full complement that includes LED fog lamps. Every 2027 Kia Seltos gets a 12-inch Digital Cluster with an integrated 4.2-inch TFT display. The X-Line SX offers a 12.3-inch Supervision TFT cluster and surround-view monitor. Heated front seats are standard from the X-Line S upwards, and available below that. A 12.3-inch touchscreen, Bluetooth, SAT, Kia Connect, HD Radio, Wireless Apple CarPlay & Android Auto, and a 6-speaker audio system are standard. An upgraded infotainment system and a premium eight-speaker Harmon Kardon sound system are optional for the top trim. A wireless device charging pad is standard on all models except the base LX.
